Recruiting Indian workers for Jordan.
Jordan is an ECR destination, so workers with ECR passports need emigration clearance through eMigrate. The Embassy of India in Amman requires every employer to register with the Mission: only registered employers can raise a demand or apply for a permit to recruit Indian emigrants.
Under eMigrate, foreign employers upload their requests for attestation and demand approval on the portal, and the Embassy processes them electronically.
The Embassy's published recruitment guidance dates from 2015, so we confirm the current steps with the Embassy for each new employer.
Emigration clearances issued for Jordan: 1,187 in 2023, 3,137 in 2024 and 2,192 in 2025 (MEA reply to Rajya Sabha Starred Question 75, 5 February 2026, Annexure-A). These counts show Government processing activity for ECR-passport workers, not employer demand.
